one-hour training session. There are some 15 or so who sign up regularly to
use the workstation. One goes to Fedworld to get Federal job
information. She uses ProComm Plus's screen capture (Alt-F1) to
"download" the data to her floppy disk. She says she can then edit the
data (some 400,000 bytes) on her computer at home. One girl (sixth grade)
comes in just to browse for hours on Netscape. Although I don't spy on
people who are using the machine, it seems that a number of small
business people are interested to see what is out there, if it
would be something to invest in for their own businesses.
We are working on getting a community rep for our branch, who
can share the burden of giving training sessions.
We are also working on getting guest speakers from USC
(across the street from us) to provide more in-depth Internet education.
The new Infopeople brochures are great.
