Telnet Access Fails

This morning I find it impossible to telnet in to InfoPeople. When I use
my local internet provider account and telnet cerf.net I get a login
prompt, but the combination of login and password are not accepted
("Login incorrect") This happens when I try to telnet in via any of
three internet providers I use (sjvls, cybergate, class).

I am using the Fresno Co. Library infopeople account, libfres1.

When I dial the 800 number and login, my login and password are accepted.

I wonder what's happening?
