I don't think that there is any question that email is valuable and
empowering. The question, as I see it, is how to best use a very limited
resource. If our library had, say, 40% utilization of our workstation, I
would be more receptive, personally (I don't speak for the LAPL), to
testing the concept. With about 80% (100% on our open evenings), I just do
not see it as appropriate extension of our mandate.
