Subject: Re: Internet and Childrens Services

We have only one Internet station which is located right inside the front
door next to our registration desk. Our policy with children is the same
as with books - it is up to the parents to keep track of what their
children are doing. We do not limit, filter or restrict any patron and
that includes children. We are forced by budget restraints to charge
$3.00 per hour for use on the Internet. We also require that the first
time patrons use the Internet they do it when a volunteer is available to
help them. The location of the station, our fee, and presence of a
volunteer would probably discourage children from trying to find
objectionable material. We have had people asking what our policy is but
have heard no complaints or criticisms about the policy.
Hope this imformation is of some help to you.
