Subject: Technologies for access by the disabled
I am inquiring on behalf of a system administrator at University of
Zimbabwe who has asked me to identify "libraries which provide
special services for disabled students [or patrons, I assume] like
the blind and hearing impaired." He is specifically interested in
"IT related services." I have already conveyed to him our brief
experience with our automated library system vendor's product, a
workstation with software for magnifying the display and a voice
synthesizer for reading it.
Are any of you using such technologies? Would you mind my forwarding
your URL, e-mail, street address, whatever to my colleague?
