Subject: Saving HTML as *.txt
I just perused the list of postings in the IP-TEC archive hoping to
find discussion of this issue. In the process I observed that I've
generated a good deal of the "How come this?" or "How do I do that?"
sorts of queries. Here's another...
What is driving the occasional inability with Netscape (v.3.01)--perhaps
other browsers as well--to save HTML as a text file? File->Save
as... prompts for a file type and defaults, naturally, to HTML.
Sometimes, Plain Text is an option, sometimes not. In the latter
instances, HTML may be the only option or All Files may also appear.
I have successfully created plain text files using All Files and
adding the .txt extension to the file name.
Is this situation driven by the underlying HTML?
