Modoc READ
Modoc READ is the adult literacy program of the Modoc County Library. With the help of volunteer tutors, Modoc READ provides free, one-on-one instruction in reading, writing, spelling, grammar, mathematics, and penmanship, as well as assistance with study skills and pre-GED preparation. Its office is located at the Library's headquarters at 212 West 3rd St., Alturas, CA. Modoc READ is a member of the Northern California Literacy Coalition (NCLC).
Modoc READ:
- provides private tutoring
- serves people at levels of proficiency from basic to pre-college
- individualizes instruction to meet the needs of the learner
- charges no fees for study materials or tutoring
