CALTAC is pleased to announce a special conference designed for California public library trustees, commissioners and system advisory board members. See the complete program schedule here.

CONFERENCE THEME: Get Real! Helping Libraries Survive and Thrive in Turbulent Times

DATE/TIME: Friday, September 24 and Saturday September 25, 2004 (registration available from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Friday; last session ends at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. There will be a Friday night opening session from 7-9; it includes dinner and a speaker. Since Saturday begins with breakfast at 8, all attendees are expected to stay at the conference hotel, the Cerritos Sheraton. The conference covers one night at the hotel and 3 meals (Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and lunch).

INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE: Use a Public Value Checklist at a location near the Cerritos Library to observe and record perceptions of how public and private sector organizations reach out to win the attention and support of the community.
