Sandy Bolek

Much to her astonishment, Sandy Bolek has nearly twenty-five years of experience in the public library profession. How quickly the time flies when you’re fortunate enough to have a job that you’re truly passionate about, she notes.

For the past twelve years, her passion has been technology. Since 2000, she has served as the Website Coordinator for the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. As such, she is responsible for delivering innovative, customer-focused resources via CincinnatiLibrary.org and for overseeing the design, development, and support of the Library’s family of websites. She is also responsible for coordinating the Library’s social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Flickr.

Sandy’s experience with ebooks dates back to 2004, when the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County joined the Ohio eBook Project. Since that time, she has answered thousands of phone calls and emails from customers about ebooks and audiobooks, presented training sessions for staff and customers, developed online training materials, and co-presented “The Downloadable Library: How One Library Embraced Its Downloadable Future” at ALA’s Annual and Virtual Conference and the Ohio Library Council Annual Conference.
