Infopeople is pleased to be able to offer California libraries a discounted price for online training offered through Lyrasis. Lyrasis is a regional membership organization for libraries and information professionals with offices based in Atlanta and Philadelphia. It was created in 2009 by the merger of PALINET and SOLINET, two well-established regional library networks. Lyrasis members now include over 4,000 member libraries and cultural heritage institutions across the US and beyond.
To register for Lyrasis training as a California partner:
- Go to http://www.lyrasis.org/.
- Click the link to New User (or enter your login info if you have already registered and received a user ID) you'll find in the upper right corner of the web page.
- Login with the user name and ID that Lyrasis emails you.
- Once you are logged in, click on the top link to Classes & Events, then on the link to Scheduled Classes & Events.
- To see the list of current online classes, be sure to select Distance Education in the Delivery method selection box.
- At checkout, be sure to select the member price in the Price dropdown box. You don't need to check the Lyrasis member box. Your eligibility for the discounted price is based on your California address.
Most Lyrasis distance education courses are offered live online and last two hours. Here are the system requirements for participating in their courses.
