Classroom Location
Enter the building at 30 Grove St. (early entry address) and check in with the security guards.
Computer Lab: The lab is located in the 6th floor Training Center. When you exit the elevators, the lab is located in the far right-hand corner of the building (southwest).
Parking
Civic Center Garage (355 McAllister Street, between Polk and Larkin). Other Car Park Lots: at Grove/Gough (2 lots, corner of Market and 9th St.), at Polk/Hayes (2 lots, Polk between Fell and Hayes), at Golden Gate and Larkin (399 Golden Gate Ave.), Performing Arts Garage (360 Grove St., between Franklin and Gough).
Driving Directions
From the North Bay: Take 101 South. Take the Lombard Street exit, right onto Van Ness. Take Van Ness south, turn left onto Grove. The Main Library is Grove and Larkin. For underground parking, at Polk St. (1 block before Larkin) go left, then take an immediate right onto McAllister. Go one-half block. Turn right into the driveway off of McAllister.
From the Peninsula/South Bay: Take 101 North. Take 9th Street exit and go up 9th Street, stay in the right hand lanes. 9th becomes Larkin at Market. Go one block. The new Main Library is on the right hand side, at Grove. For underground parking, turn left on Grove, go right on Polk, then right onto McAllister, go one-half block. Turn right into driveway off of McAllister.
From the East Bay: Take 80 West. Take 101 North. Take 9th Street exit and go up 9th Street, stay in the right hand lanes. 9th becomes Larkin at Market. Go one block. The new Main Library is on the right hand side, at Grove. For underground parking, turn left on Grove, go two blocks, take a right onto Van Ness, go one block, then right onto McAllister, go one and one-half blocks. Turn right into driveway off of McAllister, just past Polk Street.
Public Transportation
Using AC Transit buses (510-839-2882, TTY 800-448-9790): Get off at the Transbay Terminal, then walk to Market. Take any outbound bus, get off at 9th and Larkin and walk one block to Larkin and Grove; OR on Market, take the MUNI Metro Subway, get off at Civic Center, then take the UN Plaza exit. Walk across the plaza, and up to Fulton and Larkin. The Main Library is on the left.
From the East Bay: Using BART (788-2278, TTY 510-839-2220), get off at 8th Street/Civic Center Grove exit from BART. You come up across the street from the Grove Street library entrance.
From the Peninsula/South Bay: Take Caltrain (800-558-8661) which stops at 4th and Townsend. Transfer to San Francisco MUNI (673-MUNI) #42, Gold Loop. The bus will run up Van Ness. Get off at Grove, walk to Larkin.
From the North Bay: Take Golden Gate Transit (332-6600). Numbers 10, 20, 50, 60, 70, and 80 buses stop at Golden Gate and Polk (by the State Building). Walk east to Larkin, then south to Grove.
