Ann Awakuni has worked in public libraries for almost 20 years in a variety of different capacities and was recently elected to the California Library Association Board of Directors. She currently works for the Mountain View Public Library Adult & Virtual Services department where she splits her time between providing reference and reader’s advisory services, developing collections and programs, and being the library webmaster and ebook guru. A 2008 Eureka Library Leadership Institute fellow, Ann has spent the past year implementing an innovation grant to develop popup makerspace programming. In 2012, Ann won an Infopeople scholarship to attend the very first RSquared Conference in Colorado. The R2 experience inspired Ann to seek out new ways of engaging her community with out-of-the box adult program ideas, which she shares in her course on Adult Programming.
