Like many librarians today, Dolly Goyal did not expect libraries to be the world that she would end up in, but it has been the most satisfying and fulfilling. When Dolly first stepped into a role as a Children’s librarian at Santa Clara City, she was terrified of small children and Storytimes. It is hard for her to imagine that fear now with years under her belt serving as a Children, Adult and Teen Services Librarian for Santa Clara County and San Mateo County Libraries.
Dolly is most passionate about working with teens, creating teen programs and outreach to local middle and high schools, especially in classrooms with teens who hate reading. She is a member of YALSA and BAYA as well as a graduate of the 2012 Eureka! Leadership Institute. Dolly received her B.A in Journalism and B.S. in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University and her M.L.I.S. from San Jose State University.
