Jamie Campbell Naidoo is an associate and Foster-EBSCO Endowed Professor at the University of Alabama School of Library and Information Studies. He has over 10 years experience working in both public and school libraries in Alabama. Jamie teaches and researches in the areas of library services to culturally diverse populations and representations of diversity in children’s print and digital media. He has published numerous articles, book chapters, and books related to cultural diversity and children’s librarianship. Two of his recent books include Rainbow Family Collections: Selecting and Using Children’s Books with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Content (Libraries Unlimited, 2012) and Diversity Programming for Digital Youth: Promoting Cultural Competence in the Children’s Library (Libraries Unlimited, June 2014).
Jamie received his B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee (Martin) and his MLIS and Ph.D. from the University of Alabama. He has also taught at the University of South Carolina School of Library and Information Science.
