Retired since 2010 after almost twenty years as Head of Cataloging and Preservation at University of San Diego's Copley Library, Margit now divides her time between binding and repairing books in her studio, and finishing her book about medieval girdle books. Her interest in, and her practice of bookbinding go back nearly forty years and have lead her to teaching the Infopeople workshops, with an emphasis on maintaining general collections.
Margit lives in San Diego, loves to travel and especially enjoys attending conferences where she often gives papers and presentations about various topics of medieval book culture, and the general protection of the printed word.
