Hwo to Create a Profile in the Infopeople Registration System
Infopeople has completely redesigned our workshop registration database. It offers some great new features that will make it much easier for people to track what they took and when they took it, and make it easier to view or cancel existing registrations, as well as save your billing information so you don't have to type it over and over again.
You don't have to login to use the Infopeople website! The registration is only if you want to register for training - everybody is free to use the site just like always, without registering. These instructions are only for people who want to sign up for classes!
Look for the login link in the upper right corner of all Infopeople web pages:

This link will take you to the login screen, which looks like this:
In our new system, you will have a unique "profile" that contains your name and address for billing, as well as a list of all the Infopeople training you have taken (very handy when you have to do annual reports and the like!). We have imported all of the users from the old database, so if you have ever registered for infopeople training, you may very well already have a profile. But before you can view that profile, you will need to find out what your password is.
To retrieve your password:
To see if you are in our database, click on the login link in the upper right corner of any Infopeople web page. Click on the Forgot Password? link. On the next screen enter your last name and email address, then click Send Reminder. If you are in our database, you will be emailed a message that has your passsword in it.
If you input your last name and email address and you receive a message on screen that says, "Failed to find matching email address," you are not in our database and you will need to create a new profile.
Once you have your password, click the login link in the upper right corner, then on the next screen enter your email address and password then click Log in. That's it! Now when you look in the upper right corner of any Infopeople web page, you will see your name - an easy visual way to see if you are logged in. Just click the logout link to end your active infopeople session.
If you have never taken an Infopeople course (or can't find your profile), or your email address has changed since the last time you registered, not to worry. Creating a profile is a quick and easy process.
If you are sure you have registered in the past but can't find your email address in our system, you can contact the Infopeople webmaster at ipweb@infopeople.org and we will try to merge your training data with your new profile.
To create a new profile:
Click on the login link in the upper right corner of any Infopeople web page. Click on the New Student? link.
You will see a page like this:
Enter your first name, last name and email address and you're on your way! You will receive an email from the workshop registration program - be sure to read it as it will contain instructions on how to complete your registration. We do this for your security - we don't want fake people using your information to create profiles!
To access your user profile:
If you want to edit or view your profile information, just click on your name in the upper right corner once you have logged in. You can view past and future registrations, change your billing address, update your email address, or change the library you are associated with.
Special note: Be sure that the email address you use in creating your profile is unique. In the past people were often registered by another staff member. In our new system, you will need to register yourself, so you can keep better track of what you take.
