Designed for people who've already gotten their feet wet with Excel, this intermediate course picks up where Infopeople's beginning Excel workshop left off.

Learning more about how to harness the power of Excel will enable you to create complex spreadsheets more effectively. Whether you are comparing data across years, coping with various budget scenarios, or using Excel to manage a multitude of library statistics, this course will help you use Excel more productively in your library.

Workshop Description: This all-day workshop will provide hands-on experience of the more sophisticated features of Excel, including using pivot charts for summarizing data, creating multiple spreadsheets for statistical analyses, writing macros to increase efficiency and publishing on the Web. Using library examples, the course will focus on practical, useful tips that can be applied immediately in your work.

Who Should Attend: Anyone in a California library with an interest in learning more about using Microsoft Excel 2000's powerful features and their usefulness in the library setting.

Prerequisites: While there will be a review of the basics of Excel, this course is not suitable for beginners. Students should be familiar with basic Excel features and should be comfortable moving around Excel spreadsheets and inputting data.
