Webinar Technical Requirements

Basic Recommendations

  • Test you computer before joining a webinar: http://intesolv.adobeconnect.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm
  • A wired connection is better than wireless.
  • Close all unnecessary programs and windows.
  • Turn off all popup blockers.
  • Click on the Volume icon in your system tray and make sure it is set to 100%.
  • Free as much network bandwidth as possible. For example, quit applications that sometimes use a lot of bandwidth, such as instant messenger applications and sharing applications.
  • Restart your computer. This will maximize the resources available to the webinar.

Things to Know

  • You can use your regular computer speakers to listen to a webinar. Headphones will work, too.
  • You will need to use your computer for audio. If your connection is poor, we encourage you to listen to the archive after the live event.
  • If you are trying to access while at work, you may be blocked by proxy server settings. Check with your IT department to make sure the 8080 Port is open. If there is still a problem, try:
    1. In your browser, find the Internet Options or preferences to change proxy settings.
    2. Enable the setting Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections and click OK.
    3. Close all browser windows and re-open before trying to connect to the meeting again.
  • Dial-up or satellite connections may not be able to see or hear the presentation without a considerable lag. Again, we enocurage you to access the archive after the live event.
